Polishing machines, polishing drums, polishing machines, tumbler from LORTONE (USA).
LORTONE drum grinding machines are suitable for grinding and polishing stones, gold and silver as well as precious stones, brass, aluminum, tin, plastic, other metals, as well as in other procedures, for burring or polishing jewelry and other metal parts. The machines impress with their minimal power consumption and almost noiseless operation. All devices are intended for continuous operation.
The device must not be used without the addition of a cleaning concentrate, otherwise the surface of the polishing drum can be damaged!
Commissioning of the devices
Please set up the device horizontally. You can see the two waves that the drum (s) are lying on. Turn on the device. You can see that only one shaft, the drive shaft, turns. The second shaft only runs when the drum is in place. Pull the device plug out of the socket again and check with two fingers whether the second shaft can also be turned easily. This is just a precautionary measure. Now place the drum (s) on the shafts. The locking button of the drum (1.5E, 3A, 45C and QT models) must be placed with its recess on the retaining plate on the housing. This works like a guide walkway. The locking buttons on the 33B and 3-1.5B must face outwards. Turn the device back on. The drum (s) must now turn.
Polishing and grinding instructions
Fill the rubber drum with small rough stones (or the parts to be processed) up to about ¾ full. You can determine the size of these stones yourself, but they should not be larger than 3 to 4 cm. A mixture of large and small stones, e.g. from 10 to 35 mm, would be ideal. You will achieve a good result if you do not work too large stones in the drum. When you work on different types of stone (or the parts to be machined), make sure that they are roughly the same hardness.
Grinding and polishing media: Put about 10% polishing or grinding media on a drum filling (e.g. 1 kilo of stones; 100 g polishing or grinding media). That brings the experience. For the last step you use polishing pads (stainless steel particles).
Now that the stones have been filled in, fill the drum with water up to about 2 cm below the surface of the stone. Now connect the drum as previously described. Then place the drum (s) on the shafts and check whether the drum (s) turn (s). If this is not the case, the drum can be given a short push. Check the contents of the drum once every day, but at least every two days. (Take care when opening the full drum; there is a slight overpressure. Start with the opening on the opposite side to avoid any soiling of the clothing.)
Let the stones run with a grinding or polishing mixture until you can no longer notice any visible improvement. Then switch to the next variety. Of course, it is a matter of experience to know when you can roughly switch to the next variety.
